The PINCH belay device redefines the belaying experience with its innovative design, suitable for sport climbing, multi-pitch routes, and rope access techniques. It attaches directly to the central ring of the climbing harness, allowing for a low, close-to-the-body position. This feature eliminates the need for fixing the device in place when releasing the rope, enabling a full-finger grip on the brake rope for better control.
The compact design offers an increased span, allowingyou to pay out an additional 20-30 cm of rope at once. Its linear rope run through frontal steel braking grooves minimises tangles during lowering and abseiling. The device features a release lever and allows speed control through pressure on the braking hand, which is particularly beneficial when using thinner ropes.
Safety is paramount with the PINCH, including an anti-panic function for beginners and a special integrated second braking tier for controlled lowering of lighter individuals. Experienced users can also deactivate the anti-panic function using a supplied screw. Additionally, the PINCH is versatile in multi-pitch scenarios, able to attach to the belay station in four 90° increments, ensuring optimal positioning for free operation. The PINCH is designed for both safety and usability, making it a game-changer in belaying technology.
